Paint.net

Resizing An Image

  1. With Paint.net up and running, open up a large image No 1, sent to me from my nephew in Michigan of his daughter, Ann and friends, getting ready to go out on Halloween night.
  2. First click on Image at the top menu bar.
  3. Choose canvas size. The image is 6264 pixels across the top and 1840 pixels for the image height. A pixel is short for Picture Element, a pixel is a single point in a graphic image.
  4. A pixel is the basic unit of the composition of an image on a television screen, computer monitor, or similar display.
  5. This image is way to large to send with an e-mail. I like to make an image to be sent in an e-mail to be 800x600 pixels or a little bit smaller like 600x400 pixels.
  6. So go to Image > resize and type in 800 pixels for the width and the height, 451 pixels, come in automatically because the Maintain Aspect Ratio box is checked.
